Mailboxes
From ProphWiki
Another idea: in-game mail.
A great addition would be mailboxes. Once hometowns are imped along with whatever other changes are needed, it would be need to have a "post office" of sorts in each hometown. I guess right now, it could just be in Sendar. Anyway, the idea would then be the same as a stash, except modified. Each player would have a "mailbox" in the post office that they could "check" (in prophecy it'd probably be "look in mailbox"). Then, there's another mob that I have creatively named "Mailman", who accepts mail requests from players to other players. You can send money or an item, as well as text in a given "mail". The mailman then puts the mail in the target player's mailbox.
Fun idea, great concept. All the pieces of mail can be made from existing objects as well. The text will be placed in the mailbox as a "note" where you can "look at note" and it will display who it's from, when they sent it, and the body of the mail. Money is just a pile of coins, and the object is, well, the object.
The catch? It costs money to mail things, just like it does in the real world. I'd say that there should be a general flat fee of x silver to send a mail, plus x% of item value if an item is sent, and x% of money value if money is sent.
Fun to add, great for players to play with, fun for coders to imp, and it also helps address the "overabundance of gold" problem.
Again, as with all my ideas, it's just a start. It needs to be talked about and refined before we can truly imp it.
