Hello there. This is the talk page for PK. Where you can get your voice heard, or hear others about Player Killing. Currently, there are very little PK, which we are trying to change with this board, so please tell us your suggestion how to bring PK back to Prophecy!

Here's a few ideas for now.

  • Clear the reputation board as soon as possible.
  • Implement the 10% weekly drop in reputation.

  • Change it to PK Month.
  • Give a gold/qp price to the first three of that Month.
  • Put PK Pastwinners on the wiki instead of on the mud.

[edit] Raidable Clan Halls

The general idea of this is that first of all we make the clan halls nosafe area. then we place more guards outside and inside a clan's clanhall. The idea is that when a clan raid another clan's hall, the attackers would need to be atleast 5-6, and the guards should be strong enough to cause serious damage to the attacker, so if there only is one defender he "could" (probably depends on skill level) fight them off. And also, if an attacker die within the hall of another clan, the only way to get the corpse back is either hope for that your clan members finish the raid. Or that you might get it back from the other clan. Or the last alternative, sneak in and hope that all guards are dead, because if they sap you, they will transfer you to jail, and the only way to get out of there is to have either your clanmates come rescue you, which would require another raid, or that the other lord or whomever got access to jailkey lets you out.


[edit] Discount on level if you lvl pkset

  • The title of this one explains it all, put in a 10-20% discount on your xp/lvl if you are PKset.
  • There are already an 10% bonus on Aquests if you are PKset.

[edit] 2 minute timer/violence timer

  • Make it 1 minute upon login.
  • And please remove the vt on a person if the only person he/she was fighting died.

If he were fighting multiple targets he/she would still have have vt until all targets were eliminated, or timer ran out.

My opinions on what you have listed. Yes please add PK decay, it should be based on VT time and PK kills. Add Clan Reputation, so we can brag about which clan has the most reputation. Adding a small reward to PK week would be beneficial, I wouldn't mind winning 10k to pay for potions if I won 1st place. Raidable clan halls would be a great idea but we don't have enough players for that. I don't think we need an increase in exp if we're PKset, I do think grouping shouldn't hinder exp gain. 2 minute VT timer isn't that long so I think that should stay but you shouldn't get the corpse timer if you die while not VT. I would like it if when you died the game wouldn't let you log out, instead you had to wait 5 minutes. This logging out than back in to get your corpse is abuse of a loophole in my opinion. I think the most important thing is to remove pk rep board. Pk rep board really decreases pk activities by a lot because a lot of players dont want to lose their reputation. Maybe make pk rep a personal thing and only you can view it. The rest of the points are secondary when compared to the pk rep board. Rasfene


I agree though - I'd like to see the 10% decrease in Pk Rep implemented. The rep board itself isn't bad per se, but people do feel the urge to "one up" others and don't want to lose rep. I myself have been guilty of it in the past. Clan rep would be cooler - might make the clans more equal as others try to strengthen the weak ones.

From my most recent change containing "PK" (Sep 06), you already get a 10% bonus to exp and aqp from levelling/aquesting if you're PK. Vaikartana is semi correct, there also exists a separate 10% MCCP bonus. Anheg 20:27, 1 August 2007 (CEST)

I think maybe one of the biggest things we can do for PK is to increase the MUD's playerbase as a whole and then advertise the fun/challenge of it, as well as the XP/AQ bonus. And we don't even have to have a huge base to have PK - we just need to get out there, fight each other, and try to recruit other people. Otherwise, I like all of these ideas and see their use. I'm not sure that I would like removing individual rep in favor of clan rep though, maybe just add clan rep onto the board. Also, I think the 2 min VT is fine. Dipheras
Idea of having Clan Reputation instead of current PK reputation is something but I think we could have both. I like the idea of PK week being a PK month instead. I'd also like to see the Clan Reputation as simple statistics of: "LoN has gained 1.82 PKpts this week" / "GoW has lost 1.33 PKpts this week" / etc. That instead of only updating the total reputation. Also, if clan reputation is counted it should count only reputation of people who have pked during that "PK month". Then it would show realistic power struggle. I don't honestly believe people do not PK because of PK rep. It's just the fact that people who do not PK are high on the list. There is need for PKrep to decay obviously. For all I care, PKrep could be resetted. Also, individuals who are loudest to complain about people not leaving safe usually hug it just as fierce. It's not time for pointing fingers but to step out of clan halls. That is the simple and functional way of improve PK. Leave your clan hall. Go to the harms way. Hey guys, think it's bout time i help with some ideas aswell.

I got a rather cool idea for Pk reputation, 1. really like the idea on clan rep as it could have a chance to increase the wars against the clans more.

2. I think player rep shouldn't be displayed and why i think that i will explain on the next line.

3. My idea on pk rep is that clan rep should be visable for "evryone" but Player rep should be hidden to just the player himself AND the clan lord(s) of his clan, and the reason i want/think that is that it could be used to promote/reward players that pk much in the clan.

4. And not only that i think the Clan lords (pk) should be able to see how many times the person in speaking has pk/killed/died just to keep track on how active your clannies really are, sure i realise that you can do it but it would be alot nicer if you had a single command that would display those things.
